I am a huge fan of AR. This is a good arrangement no doubt. But that
passion is missing. And I don't know whether its deliberate, but its not
"hai mar jayenge" but its "HAAYE mar jaenge".. If he has done it
deliberately then I must say it has not worked. The grief of someone
departing is completely missing..

This song has all the elements in it that make AR Rahman look good and
bring the spotlight. But everything that brings alive this classic is
missing. The vocals have no passion or depth of expression, the accordion
is handled without skill, the strings section is under utilised. No
disrespect to AR Rahman, but everything after Dil Se & Roja seem to be
manufactured.

Sir, I am a die hard fan of yours but this time I'm not gonna praise you
for this version because I believe that nobody can match the height of the
Farida Khanum version. I have even heard the original rendition by Habib
Wali Mohammad and then the rendition by Asha Bhosle ji but Farida Khanum
version is still the best from my point of view.
