dekh fiza main rang bhara hai..
maire jigar ka zakhm hara hai..

seene se mere sir ko laga de...
hath main tere dil ki dawa hai.

Aja re aa zara... lahra kah aa zara...

apna sulagna kis kis ko dikhaoon...
Saans ke toofan kese chupaooo????

Aankhen kia kia dekh rahee hain...
Dil pe jo guzre, kaise bataoon??

Great!

Although Mohd.Rafi has sung many romantic songs but this one has mesmerising effect and that too ,recorded in those old days when technology for tracks recording was missing. Those were the days of live recordings ,when the whole song was to be re-recorded in case of any mistake. Hats off to Rafi and SJ... great composers..

Glad to see that there are smart people,
i hope people wil grow up indeed!
rahdisas on September 14, 2010
Don't crucify me - this is just my opinion but to be quite honest, I think this song would be much better without the quivering effect Rafi puts in the middle.

Mohinish Behl looks just like Joy Mukerjee. Did Nutan...???

yasmeenfive on November 19, 2010
@suresh1957 Well said !!! Why cant folk appreciate good talent instead of dwelling on bitter history and trading hatred filled insults on religions/cultures???? Sad times!!!
suresh1957 on November 19, 2010
@yasmeenfive Thanks very much for that supportive comment ! As one of the dohas of Kabir go:
"Jyaaathi naa poocho sadhu ki, pooch lijiye gnyaan
Mor karo talwar ki, pada rahan do myaan"

My quick and dirty translation:
"Ask not about the religion of the saint, ask him about his wisdom
Check the sharpness of the sword, let the scabbard be ignored"

@londonking2008 U R great. The truth is explained proficiently. The truth is so visible. Just like day light. But its a pity people are blindfolded with various RELIGEOUS MYTHOLOGIES. Worse than slaves. No escape at all.Born to the Myth. Living in the Myth.Dying with the Myth.
RealMusicKing on December 16, 2010
To all Kishore Kumar fans. Joy Mukherjee is his nephew. Yes, Ashok, Anoop and Kishore had only ONE sister who was married to producer/director S. Mukherjee. Joy was his son. Joy always used Rafi for playbacking.

Any Kishore fans here who can swear he was better than Rafi or even close to Rafi?
Inception03 on December 19, 2010
Second! sad really sad India could not able to produce singers like Rafi Saab, Kishore, Mukesh in last 50 years. Now we only left with Lata and Asha as last legends.
Its so sad that we have all kind crappy so called singers who only can able to imitate those great singers in their crappy voice. Records 100 songs in their crappy voice and think that they are they best singers.
Listen his voice goes from low pitch to high pitch with little support from music, his voice was real sound of music.
2244khan on December 26, 2010
Lets enjoy this classic by the great Rafi Sahab, this type of music will probably never return to entertain the millions; another marvellous SJ tune delivered to the best of its kind one can imagine.

Unbelievely fantastic, that's all I can think of for Rafi Sahab's captivatingly romantic voice plus a magical performance by both Joy Mukherjee and Asha Parekh.
Thnx for posting.

LIKING AND DISLIKING should not be based on RELIGION

MrRagbag on May 07, 2011
Rafi Sahab is simply divine. Only the almighty can sing like this. We are blessed to hear this melodious voice.
Jay Subramanyam on June 24, 2011
While giving due credit to Rafi let us also remember the composers, Shanker
Jaikishan who were geniuses in their own right and the most popular duo
ever in the history of Hindi film music..
MrRagbag on July 16, 2011
@RealMusicKing Kishireda never sang for any other actor except Dev Anand
until Aradhana in 1969, and Joy was a star in the mid 60s when Rafi ruled
supreme. So the question of his using Kishore never arised. Rafi Saab is
the great Sun in the sky of Indian playback singing and Kishoreda is a
distinct and different voice also greatly talented, it is futle to compare
both.
RealMusicKing on July 16, 2011
Sure he did. Kishore sang a song for Raj Kapoor in film Pyar. Rafi however, was every actors favorite. Dev used Kishore for reason that he was indebted to Ashok who gave him heroes role in film Ziddi 1948 but in returned asked Dev to use Kishore as playback singer. That's how Dev started with Kishore. Even at that time, Dev sang more of Hemant, Talat & starting late 1950's, took Rafi as his permanent for a whole decade. Joy had taste in using a playback singers voice, Rafi that is.
RealMusicKing on July 16, 2011
Oh yes, I know the entire family tree, not that I care much. Joy's father also gave Joy a sister out of wedlock. Do you know which actress was she? Come on now.let's see your "True Spirit" of Indian film industry?
RealMusicKing on July 18, 2011
Well...not all can be revealed. Can it?
Deepak Lal on August 12, 2011
One romantic song to beat all others in the world! There is only Mohd Rafi,
and there are only Shankar-Jaikishan!
Ashok Pipal on August 22, 2011
Looking forward to more songs of this kind in HD. Mostly Shankar
Jaikishan's compositions of the 60s.

RAFI is N° 1 for ever !!!!!!
Mohammad WASEEM SIDDIQUI on January 28, 2013
nice song... *._.*
Dinesh kumar on March 05, 2013
Only those who don't understand nothing about music can make such comments
like yours. It is simply impossible to compare these two monuments of hindi
music. They are both great in their respective way. Kishore can sing
specific songs which would not suit Rafi and vice versa. Those music
directors of the past eras understood this very well and knew which song to
allocate to each singer.Kishore's voice was more powerful while Rafi's was
sweeter and softer. But both had equal talent.
RealMusicKing on March 05, 2013
Kishore had no future from 1946-1969. At least not in Bombay. His protege's, RD & Rajesh Khanna conspired to try to raise him above Rafi. SD had selected Rafi for Aradhana songs. He had even recorded two duets with Rafi, when SD went into a coma. RD tookover the films music and gave the rest to the untalented yoddler. Mere Sapno Ki Rani brought Kishore up for the first time. From there on, Rajesh Khanna yelled out he would only Kishore. But when KK couldn't perform, he begged for Rafi.
RealMusicKing on March 05, 2013
If KK had a Powerful voice or 1/10th decent, why would he beg Rafi to playback for him 50's Shararat, Raagni, Baghi Shahzada and many more films all the way thru early 72 in Pyar Diwana? In 50's he had only one taker, Dev Anand and Dev too, took him because he was obliged to Ashok Kumar for casting him in Ziddi/1948. But that changed starting Nau Do Gyarah/58 when SD, KK's only hope in Bombay split between Rafi & KK and later, all Rafi on Hero Dev till one duet in Guide for which KK begged RD.
RealMusicKing on March 05, 2013
Now that I have Briefed you, Briefly, think twice before posting your amateur comments.
RAJ KUMAR CHHABRA Chhabra on March 07, 2013
you are a fool rather biggest fool to think. I am one of the biggest fan of
Rafi Sahib.I love to listen that rafi sahib's makhmali voice, but to
insult K.K like that, buddy..you have not done right..Manna day,
had superb hit songs, afi Kishore Mukesh Talat Mahmood, and Hemant
Kumar..all best.enjoy all...do not say NO FUTURE for any of the
Legend...
RealMusicKing on March 07, 2013
If I were a fool, I'd be with the be sitting next you, the biggest of fools, by agreeing on KK. Talat's voice was known as "Makhmali / Velvety" not Rafi's. All rose upto fame starting mid-late 40's and onwards. That was about the Legends. KK gained a bit fame starting 1969 and by the time he demised in 1987, his liking had wanned off. And that's not, Legendary by any means.
