Lata + Chitragupta = Sweetness

For me a long-missed song from sweetest era of Lata's voice. Shakeela did
not get the break she deserved in the film industry. Some of the ablest
directors brought out the best of her talent. Thanks dipiaar for this gem
dug out of the past.

Listen to the portion and word "Bhool." at 0.57 and again at 1.11, the
way it was delivered in God gifted Lataji's voice, as it matches the
preceding word "mood" as it goes down the slope from "..moodte hi bhool
gaye.." sinking completely in the background tune itself. That what
MUSIC was in fact in those days. SIMPLY FABULOUS. Creation of TOTAL
dedication from MD, Lyricist and the singer in total Tendem.

@Rmehtacpa Very good observation about the song. And yes, those were the
days---

dear Dipiaar, the songs was dearer for all those reasons you described
above and really "beauty is not only in the eyes of beholder but in your
capabilities to receive what is being served to you ! You are a gem of a
person considering all those INTRICATE emotions!

Two songs of film were very popular during that period. One is this upload
and other sung by Mukesh - Muft huwe badnam. Thanx Raj

Bahut sundar gaana hai, aur bahut puraani bhi hai. Everything works
beautifully here, Lata-ji's lovely voice, Chitragupta-ji's incredible
music, and Majrooh Sahab's evocative lines. Dhanyavaad! ~ Dr Sudevan /

Gorgeous song! It was a hit in the sixties. If I may say so, I'd like to
point out gently that there is at least one version of this song with the
missing middle stanza that is posted on Youtube. That stanza begins "Sab
kahen dekh gori mukhde to mod le, Kisi aur saamne se akhiyon ko jod le".
Not sure if the original film contained this or not. Regardless, a lovely,
magnificent geet. Thank you Dipiaar Sahab for bringing us this gem.
