Abt 30 yrs ago I was near Mahim Dargah B`bay when a very poor man clutching
a 15 paise post card requested me to write on it in English to the
prestigous Barnes School at Devlali that the fees of his 10 yr old son( a
boarder at the school) have been paid by his patron( turned out to be actor
Vinod Khanna,himself an ex student of the school)..the man with the post
card was NOOR DEWASI, lyricist of this song who never got his due.He lived
in a cubicle under the stairs of an old building..
