absolute heaven!.. to cast aside all flaws and love someone so utterly, to place your lover on a pedestal and regard them as your God, worship them... sounds as though the lyricist originally conceived these words to praise the lord.. there are so many spiritual connotations implied, esp. when she says "kyun main toofan se daroon..mera saahil aap hai"..and the chorus of course, "your eyes deemed me worthy of your love" ..to yield your vulnerability like that.. wow. the words are perfect! (sigh)

What Madan Mohan and Lata M gave to this song, Mala Sinha ultimately
brought it on to the silver screen for all to enjoy. Her dedication to
acting is legendary and she gave every role everything she had. She wanted
to act so badly that she revered every role, unlike stars of today whose
mom and dad push them to act and you see the result of that. NO expressions
and no integrity, they are just there, taking up space, maybe a few
exceptions like Amir Khan

Just saw the remix of this song...WHY has no one put a stop to the remixing if such classical songs? It is an insult to everything that music stands for. Absolutely appalling!

The movie is Anpadh, with Dharmendra and Mala Sinha. The movie was just OK,

This song is very heart touching and romantic: I found this from Wikipedia,
itneresting fact, I didn't know all along... Mala Sinha was born to Albert
Sinha, in a Nepalese Christian family. They named her Alda. Her friends at
school used to tease her calling Dalda (a branded vegetable oil of India),
so she changed her name to Mala.

@naramohan i think its because back in ur old days when u used to listen to
these "new" songs u had a different perception and a different attitude
towards these songs than u do today. i totally agree with u that these
songs are unique, but there still is good music to be found in today´s
music world. i personally loved the slower songs from "aaja nachle" (for
example oh re piya or is pal). they were in a way "down-to-earth.
