Dada Chandekar real name was Shankar Vishnu Chandekar. Dada Chandekar made
a duet for baby Lata with Snehaprabha in Pehli Mangala Gaur ('44). After
the hit song of Meena Kapoor "Sunday ke Sunday" and her quick learning
ability give the edge to the music directors to choose her. Even though her
voice has similarity to Geeta ji...But she is not a Bengali, her mother was
assamese and her father was punjabi. she grew up in assam and Mumbai. Rare
gem to share . thanks.

Thank you Basheer Ahmed Saab for forwarding this Meena Kapoor solo which I
am hearing for the first time in 68 years. More like a Punjabi song with a
PUNJABI L I L T.

Very melodious song by the talented Meena Kapoor Ji. Thanks a lot for
sharing. I think she was at her peak in the late 1940s (1947 - 1949). After
that she mostly sang for Anil Biswas Ji, who was also her husband. Saw a
program where he was deservingly appreciating her sometime back. Dada
Chandekar Ji has done a great job with her.

The song wordings that I hear are:: Ankhon Se Ankhen KYA MILLI, Dil Ke
Ishare Ho Gaye The song was played recently in Radio Ceylon Purani Filmon
Ke Sangeet and the announcer credited the song to : Lyrics - Saraswati
Kumar Deepak Music - Giridhar Sharma Another user iuploadrandomsongs has
also given the credit for the song as above. Can you verify your source for
crediting Dada Chandekar? Did this film have more than one M.D.? Thank you
for your upload.
