@ShivManiable They are singing in the palghat dialect of tamil and that is
how it sounds like in that dialect. It's not wrong usage.

to be condemned just because it is so, based on atavistic sentiment &
therefore not to be included in what is considered "pure" Tamil? How is
that fair? Every language has many dialects (& therefore registers,
pronunciations) - there needs to be more tolerance, surely?
