@shaswati09 Burman Dada was not in a hospital, but at home on the day of
recording song. He had created this tune and recorded the song on spool
tape as per the practice followed by him and later by RDB those days. A day
before the recording, he fell ill, and his assistants Bablu-Ashish went to
RD Burman to come for balancing, which w/o a trained ear, like SDB or RDB,
is quite difficult. RDB came for the recording, but he had no hand in
creating the song. RDB came and assisted in recording it.

Awesome and touchy .
jayanta chatterjee on April 04, 2013
the haunting and eerie composure of the song possibly highlights the genius
of S D Burman. Sadly enough, this would be the pinnacle of his achievements
as he slipped into coma a few days after and died in 1975.

Aur naseeb bhee apna pana, un ke naseeb maen acha sangeet nahi hai, we
should feel pity for them. :)

Rafi never made me cry, except for TereMereSapne from Guide, which
incidentally was composed by same SD Burman. Rafi himself cried a lot in
his songs, but in Kishore's sad songs, the singer did not let his voice
become melodramatic, but still made the listener cry. You almost feel like
Kishore Kumar himself felt the pain and anguish which he expressed through
his emotions. He had this magical quality because he himself was a
brilliant actor and so could understand the character better than Rafi.
dwhprofi on February 01, 2014
I think everyone has right to comment on the song but please retort to
writing on comparative singers of anytime. A song is not one men creation,
singers only add voice. Rafi sahab, Kishore da were all great legends,
created there own style and niche without actually hating each other. They
added variety and values in Indian music. If Rafi sahab is considered to be
first play back singer of Indian music and have brought lot of innovation
and variety in Indian singing by singing in many different styles of
singing and various languages , Kishore is considered to be legendary in
singing the songs lighter and still maintaining the emotions on top which
is required in Indian cinema and addition western values to Indian style
and so were other singers.
