No 3-after death of Hamansu Roy in 1940,she took over the management
ofBombay Talkies until her retirement in 1945,She married the Russian
emigre painter Svetoslav Roerich.An important incident of her life when she
eloped with Najmul Hasan during the shooting of Jawani Ki Hawa.Najam was
the hero of the film.After completion of the film Hamansu Roy cast Najam
out from Achhut Knaiya and in his place a laboratory technician Ashok Kumar
was selected as hero of Achht Kaniya,Thus Ashok Kumar entered.
