Stranger than fiction in 2006. Unless both were inspired from earlier works

The discrepancy can be explained this way: Noor-un-Ala was used as simply a
backdrop for the story. The idea is that Tabu's character did not want to
be some passive muse and by showing her dancing in honor of god, it showed
her defiance of the author and her individuality and spirituality, and I
don't think any cleric can deny the beauty in that.
