outstanding as skinny, bare-chested, struggling peasant farmer. Nirupa Roy
is earthy as Paro who was more famous for her portrayals of screen
goddesses in early 50s.

Balraj Sahani himself was favorite to Marxiism system and he was befriended with George Orwell as well.
also he used to teach at Shantiniketan in late 30's.
He was a real hero in a sense.

This song belongs to the era when IPTA was throbbing with stalwarts like Salil Chowdhury, Balraj Sahni at their creative best. The tune of this song is an adaptaion from a Russian marching song. The period saw many of the greatest musical compositions in different languages
