Besides Shamshad Begum's beautiful song rendering, Naushad is (no wonder)
rich in every form, music composition and instruments.

An excellent composition By Naushad Ali. The two lines have been
extraordinarily sung by Shamshad Begum with a very touching voice. The lilt
she has in her voice in this song is a rarity. It seems like the song was
sung in an utmost sad state of mind and circunstances. The music by Naushad
Sahib is extremely rich, powerful and full of emotions and that is what the
scene was in Mela. It is a heresay that Naushad Sahib was himself in an
utmost tragic state of mind when he composed the music.

Which song you are talking about ? Film Mela was released in 1948 where as
Radio Ceylon started Broadcasting Binaca Geetmala sometime in 1952 or 1953.

When I write that Naushad Sahib was in an immense sad state of mind when he
composed music for this song, the utmost beauty of rendition of this song
is that he was such a genius that he was able to transfer that sadness in
him so magnificently into this song that one amazes as to how much sad he
must have been himself when he composed music for this song.I myself become
so baffled by this song that I think I cannot think about the depth of his
sadness. This is too good beyond any words.

Rest in PEACE :( Gods must be singing today! धरती को आकाश पुकारे आजा-आजा
आना ही होगा इस दुनिया को छोड़ के प्यारे झूठे बन्धन तोड़ के सारे जाना ही
होगा! धरती को आकाश पुकारे! Shamshad Beghum! A life in Music, Rest forever
in Music!
