98% of indian films are musicals(sort of). In american terms they are, but
really they arnt. The songs are kinda just in nthere for fun, they dont
tell the story or anything, unlike american musicals where the whole film
is deended on the music scenes. Its very funny, Bollywood, however its even
more funny cuz they learnt this style from the country. Originally,
american films were musicals. Bollywood pretty much copied. but unlike this
country, they never changed.

its supposed to be optically inviting; back in the late 1990's my freshman
year of college I read an article on national geographic I think, which
talked about the revival of this style of dancing. It caused a huge uproar
in India because, being a conservative society, they consider this vulgar;
see, this is the dance of ancient and midieval Indian concubines. Its
SUPPOSED to turn you on. Not sure if guys are supposed to do it though.
