Check wikipedia, Salman Khan became superstar after Judwa! Yes the movies were blockbuster movies but Salman didn't win any filmfare award for that even for Dil, Madhuri got award but aamir did n't. She become the star. You will be more clear after watching the casting of hum aapke hai kaun. Madhuri name is 1st then comes salman khan!

first release. Saajan gave him the SUPERSTAR status. Go read all movies
reviews and box office statements. Salman & Madhuri were equally famous at
this stage. Madhuri was famous till Dil. But after Saajan things went
opposite. Lol Dharmendra never got Filmfare and yet he was then bigger star
