anantsandhya on September 02, 2011 Superb!!!!! Kya aawj hai Lataji aur Mannada ki----wah wah wah
listeningforpleasure on September 22, 2011 This is an amazing information! After all the film makers did not prove to be commercially "Begunah!" It is amazing that it might not have been the first time and definitely plenty of times since then has the Hindi Film industry worried about such niceties of protocol! But I am sure the Hollywood original would not have melodious composition and songs of the standard of Begunah. THANK YOU
jasiddiqi on January 01, 2012 I must have been one of very few people who saw this film in 1957! (I had no idea it was banned after that). It was a terrific comedy and I remember laughing a lot, especially when he gets the hiccups in hospital. (There's a song that goes with that, sung by Kishore Kumar.) Somebody said that Hollywood original just could not have had songs of this quality. There were a lot of songs and we had all the 78 rpm's when we lived in East Africa. Youtube is such a mine of information! Thanks friends.
pagalimommy on January 05, 2012 was it banned because of hollywood copyright?.these were the songs of my parents time...which we continued to listen to ...
Rmehtacpa on February 04, 2012 You are very luck to have seen this movie. Even just for the songs as almost all the numbers in this movie are just fantastic. I only rember the scenes, one when Jaikishan plays the Piano on the screen for the song Ye Pyase Dil... by mukesh and the other one filmed on Shakila (my childhood love) and Kishor, a duet, Din Albele Pyar Ka. the fantastic Duet where MannaJee gave playback for Kishor.
jasiddiqi on February 05, 2012 Does anybody know what happened to Shakila? We heard in the 1960s that she got married and went to live in Germany. Is she back in India?
SuperVasant on April 21, 2012 Dear Kalakarji,Thanks for uploading a sweet song. Kishor Kumar fought with the producer and therefore he asked Manna dey to sing the song. Kishor tried hard to convince Manna dada not to sing his song but helplessly Manna Dada had to sing this song because SJ was a big name that time and Kishor Kumar was just coming up. Anyway the song turned out very nice.
bthusu on May 21, 2012 Thank you.
There is so much innocence in this song and seems to have been recorded in one go. That is perhaps the reason for its freshness and sweetness.
Ash Loveny on June 12, 2012 Reminds me of the 50s. Thanks so much for upload.
Himanshu Muni on June 12, 2012 Recall having enjoyed on Radio Sri Laka.-Himanshu Muni..
RealMusicKing on July 17, 2012 I believe she made trips to India time to time as everyone does. Her younger sister, Noor was married to Johnny Walker(Badr uddin). Sisters were of Pashtun origin from Afghanistan as Dilip Kumar, Madhubala, Raj Kapoor, Ajit and many others.
khukuchow9 on August 05, 2012 What a beautiful song and so melodious. Not had the opportunity to see this movie.I had never heard of this film. How could I because I was just 8yrs.old & not allowed to see movies. But I did listen to Radio Ceylon & with what vengeance!! Shakila lives abroad but visits India quite often. Her sister Noor lives in the Lokhandwala complex in Mumbai.

reverseswing on January 19, 2013 Popular romantic song of the year 1956. This song was picturized on Kishore
Kumar and Shakila in film Begunah. Mannadey sang very beautiful duets with
Lata Mangeshker under the Music Direction of Shanker Jaikishen in films
Shree 420, Chori Chori, Basant Bahar, Begunah and Crorepati.
robert carapiet on June 26, 2013 musical orchestration unique, pity movie was not released
Rmehtacpa on October 13, 2013 The most quietly romantic song with very best of SJ tunes excellently
rendered by singers, especially Lata while saying."Jab nain chura kar
dekhle kaliyaan, dhadke jiya har baar..."
Rmehtacpa on October 13, 2013 The sweetest of all tunes.
reverseswing on October 24, 2013 Grieved to hear the news from GEO-TV that Legendary singer Manna Dey has
passed away at age 94 in the South Indian city of Bangalore. Manna Dey was
a great singer enriched with very strong knowledge of classical music.
During his long play back singing career, Manna Da sang many beautiful
songs under Music Directors S D Burman, Anil Biswas, Shanker-Jaikishan,
Salil Chaudhary, Roshan, and Madan Mohan. In film Hamdard he sang
unforgettable duets like "Pe Bin Suna Re.." "Ritu Aaye Ritu Jaye.."
gurumurthy penugonda on June 03, 2014 I was lucky to view this movie soon after it's release at Narasapur,
Vyjayathi talkies ,.that time I was about 12 years The movie was full of
comedy with Kishore Kumar .Thanks for uploading the audio song.
robert carapiet on July 27, 2014 orchestration was the key to the success of the song which was a typical S.
J. trait. the guy behind this was SEBASTIAN DSOUZA.asst music dir.was with
S.J. for more than a decade. i know his son Bosco.
Jagjit Singh Ishar on October 20, 2014 The unique sweet composition & orchestration of SJ. Loving sweet melodious
voices of Mannadey & lata ji.
Bindra Thusu on March 08, 2015 There is so much innocence, love and SJ touch, that makes the song so
touching to heart. Lata: the way she expresses her feelings in words is
awesome. A song recorded in 1955 exactly 60 years ago remains fresh as ever
and listening to it brings joy, tears and a bit of youth back in the last
decade of my life. SJ music commands an evergreen feeling in hearts of all
SJ music lovers.
