doha,panchi do not need shade from tree,it is the panthi(traveller) who
needs shade!!!

Though he sang it beautifully... but there is a mistake of a word in the
lyrics "Bada hua to kya hua jaise ped khajoor , Panchi ko chaya nahi, fal
lage ati door".. it should be "PANTHI (Traveller) instead of PANCHI (Bird)
" - Which translates - So what if you are big, like a tree of dates, as
that tree can neither provide shelter to the traveller and the fruit too is
beyond reach.

Hi Amit All my life I have known this dhoha with the reference to Panchi.
Reading what you have said panthi rather than Panchi make it more powerful.
There is always a small amount of ambiguity about verses like this, Now I
think Panthi is probably more appropriate. Thanks

P.S All the texts I have read have said Panchi, but that does not mean that
Panthis is wrong, since texts like these often follow one another, so once
a text said Panchi, a hundred more texts copied this.

Panthi thaka/bhuka sirf Khajoor ke phal dekh sakta hai. Shabdoan ka prayog
theek karna theek ho to Saar bhi theek le sakte hain. Song is beautiful
