Rafi, Lata , Asha , Mukesh ... are immortal .. what an era that was & what
a trash modern music is ..Rahman , Annu malik , Sonu Nigam etc should fill
buckets of water in front these yester years giants of music .. How time
changes often from good to bad ... good old days of innocense replaced with
lust , vulgarity, trash & greed of today ..how sad ...

@Rohan 1053-- I agree. We have to realize that, that was an era in which
the raag, the words, the music, the vocalists were all different. The songs
meant something in the films. And Rafi saab could have moderated his voice
to suit any actor. When Rafi sang for Shammi Kapoor, you would think Shammi
was singing himself. There is no comparison with today songs. I love purani
movie songs and especially Rafi saab. And yes, I can see " tere khayal".

Lovely song. This happens to be Sanjeev Kumar's first leading role in 1965. He looks trim here compared to his appearance in the 1974 film Mausam. A highly accomplished actor, he died at the early age of 47 in 1985. I recently attended a tribute concert for Gulzar and learned that Gulzar considered Sanjeev Kumar along with R D Burman as one of the anchors in his life. Thank you, Suhanee.
