If I am not wrong; this is one of the two songs composed by Madan Mohan;
for which great Naushad wanted to trade entire of his work.! Other song

The song is that she will keep on loving in spite of rejection by him. The
song translates something like this, she sings sadly, "This is true love's
honor that I will keep on loving if he deserts me. I will be still keep on
loving him. I love his grief too as it is a gift from him. His
rejection also I accept. The sad part is that I cannot part with the memory
of his love. This is a tragedy in my love. I am a dark night who does not
end. The separation is written in my destiny, that my heart and love burn
like a candle in agony of separation from my love. I am not a desire of
your heart. I am not longing of your heart. I am a sad flower. I will keep
on loving faithfully, even if you, oh my love, do not accept me. I will be

the other nazm from ANPADH, AAP KI NAZRON NE SAMJHA by the same team
lyricist Raja Mehdi Ali Khan, composer music director Madan Mohan and
singer Lata Mangeshkar in popularity is way ahead than this one. But on all
the scales of poetry, melody and sweetness this one has always been very
special to my heart and I have always wondered why it did not get the place
it deserved. All the songs of the films were superb in their melody and
keep haunting but for me this one is very very special ' jo wafa bhi kaam
na aa sake, toh wohi kahein mei kya karun'. My special thanks to rumahale
for uploading and of course aal the participating artists for their superb
and awesome contribution.
