Suraiya and Noor Jehan giving voice to his compositions.

ajbarish on May 21, 2010 Hi from Romania ! I simply love old Urdu music ! Thank you so very much for sharing this song !
ajbarish on May 21, 2010 @zahidsz72833
Hello ! I am from Romania (East Europe) and I love Indian movies , especially the old ones. Unfortunately, I know neither Urdu, nor Hindi . I have seen in your comment a word, "yateems", which has drawn my attention. What does it mean? Could you, please, tell me how I could translate it or explain it to me? What you wrote here sounds really interesting to me.
Pradeepkrlko on June 13, 2010 all the songs are too good from this movie..
now a days people are not making this kind of songs, it so BAD
Shalin Bhatt on June 15, 2010 @ajbarish "yateem" is a word of arabic origin in the urdu language meaning
"orphan" [the song takes place at a yateemkhane, or "orphanage"]. the
chorus goes "ham dard ka afsaana duniya ko suna denge, har dil mein
muhabbat ki ek aag lagaa denge" meaning "we will tell the world a tale of
pain, in each heart we will light a fire of love". the urdu inscription at
the beginning says "yateemon ki imdaad karna har insaan ka farz hai",
meaning "it is obligatory upon every person to assist orphans".
Shalin Bhatt on June 15, 2010 @petrokem the movie was definitely released in 1947.
Shalin Bhatt on June 15, 2010 @ajbarish also, the post by 'zahidsz72833' refers to a line in the song
meaning "one day the world will once again become abundant/populated with
orphans" [meaning when our parents pass away, we will technically all be
orphans; the following line goes "goonjege zamaane mein faryaad yateemon
ki" meaning "then the complaints/cries of the orphans will echo throughout
the world"]
MOHSIN ZAIDI on June 22, 2011 @yogaisgoogygoogy YOU ARE QUITE RIGHT. NAUSHAD SAHAB'S CREATIVE GENIUS IN
FACT HELPED RAFI LATA ASHA AND MANY OTHERS TO FAME. HE USED UMA DEVI'S (TUN
TUN) VOICE, KL SAIGAL, SHAMSHAD, GM DURRANI, SHYAM SUNDER, SURENDER,
SURAYYA, HEMANT KUMAR, MUKESH, MANNA DEY, BADE GHULAM ALI KHAN, PANDIT
PALUSKAR, AMIR KHAN, PARVIN SULTANA, AND OF COURSE NOOR JEHAN AND MANY
OTHERS FOR HIS SONGS. ONLY THE RIGHT VOICE FOR THE SITUATION. RAFI, ASHA
AND LATA WERE A PART OF HIS MUSIC ENSEMBLE.
Shalin Bhatt on September 28, 2011 Newly-discovered Shakkel Badayuni was asked by Naushad, before being
allowed to write lyrics to his compositions for hisupcoming film 'Dard', to
summarize himself and his poetry. His response: "Ham dard ka afsaana duniya
ko suna denge, har dil mein muhabbat ki ek aag lagaa denge"
