Parveen got the best song award for this song. She is a classical singer
and went out of her way to sing this in her own style. The one by kishore
is so bad compared to this version that it should not have been released.
Lata can try a hundred times but will not be able to sing like this. Indian
music suffered because music composers would not give songs to parveen and
were letting lata sing thousands of ordinary songs.

I Love this version of the song, heard it on the radio the other day. It was late at night, I was driving home and this song and the singer's voice transported me into a different world. I felt intoxicated and hypnotized by her voice. It soothed me, made me feel calm. It also made my heart ache with pain, but a sweet pain. A pain that I loved. It is strange but when I was listening to this song I felt that the other cars on the road and indeed the whole world were feeling the same sweet pain.
