Why did they make a modern version of this film? How could they improve on perfection? This and the 1972 Heer Ranja, are my favourite films of all time. Both make me cry. Both great films.

I've seen people commenting that Rekha's dance is less graceful than
Aish's, so I came here. Although it's different, Rekha's dance is
definitely graceful. It looks like she's floating across the carpet. I
think both women are beautiful as Umrao, and the mean comparisons
unnecessary.

I loved Rekha's expressions, outfit and performance in this song. The best singer in the WORLD, Asha-jee, could only sound this graceful w/ease!!! It could be Sanskrit, Hindi, Guju, Marathi, Tamil, Bengali, Urdu or even eng...she's just brilliant!!!

The only two actresses that interest me is Kajol and Vidya Balan. Kajol is
simple and don't need to show skin to remain as the number 1 actress for
years now. Vidya is a new comer and she reminds me a lot of Kajol. She
picks good roles and she looks like she's been in the industry for ages.

@manoharoruganti I live in the Caribbean and I know of Rekha and Aishwarya.
Both are beautiful but Rekha can actually act. I prefer Rekha to Aishwarya,
but that's just me. Note, not everyone in the world cares that much about
beauty pageants or who wins them. Kinda like how Indians take cricket more
seriously than everyone else. Neither Aishwarya nor Rekha are really all
that important in the West. Beyonce and Rihanna are more famous over
here.

Dance is not just facial expression . Its the co-ordination of the entire
mass which involves moving every part of your body gracefully. I come from
