This song was a huge hit when the film was released. Jadoo's songs were
very different from the usual Naushad tunes. Both the film and the songs
were very popular. They are still melodious

Amazing Naushad Saab in western style once again! Or is it Russian? Lovely

Magnificent. Just magnificent. I do not know whether this tune is western
or Russian but one thing I know. It is believed that Naushad Sahib went to
Mexico to compose the music for this picture to study how the gypsies
formed their music because the story of this picture was such and then
mould that music into Indian style of music and that is what you find in
this song. Yes, it is amazing because only Naushad Sahib could compose this
style of music. Just excellent.

Shamshad Begum has sung this song so beautifully well that she leaves a
strong impression on the mind that it was she only who could sing this
song. I have listened this song too many times and each time I get a
feeling that there was nobody else who could do justice to this song except
her. That music maestro Naushad Ali fully well knew about this aspect and
he very aptly chose her for this song. Her place was only her place and she
has sung some most beautiful songs to be remembered even today

Nalini Jaywant has done a marvellous job while enacting this song. She fits
in the situation of this song most appropriately.Very smart, very elegant
and very brisk as if she was the only person meant for this song.The entire
movie was such that she was aptly chosen for the role and anybody would do
a marvellous job under the direction of A.R.Kardar..

Naushad gave magical music to the film jadoo. I understand that he
introduced the accordeon as a new intrument in indian music. Just imagine
for a minute this song being sung in the new sound with the piercing voice
of Samshad Begum. It would have added more magic to the song. It was well
well ahead of its time.
