Okay. Well, this film was Raj Kapoor's most personal film, with Hasrat
Jaipuri memorable lyrics, this song solidifies it's connection to not only
the narrative of the film, but also it's rather autobiographical in that of
Raj Kapoor's experience with cinema and it's overall impact on his life.
Now, please care to tell me why you might be against the grain?

I never said I was against the grain but people have a right to be without
being called trolls. It's like calling bearded men terrorists. It's a
dangerous generalisation that doesn't adequately reflect the open minded
community we purport ourselves to be. Raj Kapoor's connection to the
sing/film/context need not be imposed on a viewer since an artist ceases to
own his art once it is in the public space. If an artist or his fans are
afraid of criticism then they should just keep the art personal

Originally Raj Kapoor was suppose to act for this song. But after hearing
it sung by Mukesh, Raj gave up the idea as he felt he will never be able to
bring the pain which is in Mukesh voice. So he wore a mask and left it to
the imagination of the audience.. Mukesh you were a true genius.
