very, very lovely song. Suman Kalyanpur had a very sweet voice. Thanks for
posting. A video from the movie will be appreciated. I have not seen the
movie at all - unfortunately.

All these years i thought it was Lata Mangeshkar, difficult to distinguish her voice from that of Lata.
VeeJay on June 29, 2010
Great music by (?) Khayyam Sahib and great singing by Sumanji. Thank you
Khurram for the upload.

@ sounds very Sahir / Khayyam
Suman had a beautfiful voice, very sweet laykari !!

Suman has sung a GREAT masterpiece
Milahi1935 on May 06, 2011
After listening to Suman, how could a good music composer give his music to
Lata or Asha. Suman is the best Indian female singer I have ever heard. She
was discovered by Talat and has vibrations in her voice similar to Talat.
Suman also has a higher range and I wish Khayyam had made her take her
voice up at the end of the song like Rafi used to.
Milahi1935 on May 06, 2011
Suman has put in so much emotion in her voice that one feels the sadness of
the tune. I have not heard Lata or Asha put so much emotion in any of their
songs. Suman is a rare genius.
Milahi1935 on May 06, 2011
Suman has a sweeter voice than Lata. I listen to this song over and over
again and it sounds more beautiful every time.
Milahi1935 on May 10, 2011
Jo sirf tumara hai, woe dil kissay dikhlain. What a way to put this gentle
thought. Again "bus he may naheen verna hum murrkay chaley aain". This is
no ordinary poetry. Sahir is the poet. May his poetry live in the sweetest
voice of Suman.
Mohan Udiavar on May 25, 2011
Truly, Sumanji's voice is petal soft and singing par excellence. Thanks for
the song

*** Magical combination of lyric, composition, matching voice and
rendition! *** Suman Kalyanpur was a victim of monopolization over play
back singing by a family of singers in Bombay film industry.. just as many
others were!
Milahi1935 on October 07, 2011
This one song of suman is better than any song sung by either lata or ash.
Suman should have got the film fare music award for this. Suman has sung
better than perfectly. I have heard this song over and over again and
respect the poetry, the sweetness of voice, the emotions and the range.
dramjadparvez on March 13, 2012
This is one of my most favourite songs by Suman Kalyanpur. Khayyam has used
her voice admirably well These were the days when Khayyam did not go for
Lata Mangeshkar. Pictured on Nanda this song made an amazing pathos to the
ears and visuals. The song makes very effective of violins and vibraphone.
sandy sharma on March 15, 2012
@Milahi1935 I agree with you totally.

@dramjadparvez Ultimate! I cannot imagine anything better. Qasim
S Qasim Hasan Zaidi on March 17, 2012
@Milahi1935 OMG. At the moment, I can not imagine any other song superior
to this one. For the last several hours I have been in a trance, listening
to it again and again, and between the intervals, have been trying to
divert my attention to other things, but in vain. My imagination has been
enslaved by this captivating song and I am struggling to get over this
feeling which has a sweet pathos and an exhilarating and overwhelming
sadness! A hypnotizing performance by Suman on lyrics of Sahir.
sarlata20 on March 17, 2012
@sqhzaidi Very beautiful song with very soulful, touching lyrics. Suman K.Ji
sings with feelings of sadness & helplessness in her very UNIQUE, soothing
voice ,very near to Lata Ji's voice. Thanks Dear Qasim Bhai for sharing I
like Suman Ji's ''Chodo Chodo mori Baiyan'' & ''Sanwariya Re Aapni Meera Ko
Bhool N Jana'' from films ''Miya Bibi Raji'' & ''Anchal'' Her younger
sister friend of my cousin used to come to our big joint family in our
school days & used to sing. She also had great voice Sarla

@sarlata20 Oh thanks Sarla ji for locating my comment on this song and
furnishing your impressions. I am delighted to read your opinion about
Suman ji. The songs you have stated specially the second one and many more
are my favorite. They are masterpieces indeed. Thanks to you one more time
and to my friend @khurramDBG for uploading this beautiful ghazal showing
his great taste. Thanks to @Milahi1935 for his profound views in
appreciation of Suman ji. Regards.
Milahi1935 on March 19, 2012
Once again I marvel at the beauty of this song. Suman is so delicate in her
singing and portrays helplessness like no other person could. This has to
be one of the top five songs of all times.
S Qasim Hasan Zaidi on March 19, 2012
@dramjadparvez Yes, the composer has made a remarkable use of violins,
tabla, flute and vibraphone. It is a magic indeed. Regards.

Have never realised that she sang so many beautiful songs. listening to
this song it is very hard to differentiate her voice and that of lata. she
sings as well as lata does. well done suman!

The replica of lata's heavenly voice.
Anand Kotharkar on December 09, 2012
Directly touches one's heart and tears take charge of the emotions,
instantly. Its a heavenly composition of Khayyam, the music director
meticulous. Timeless song. Very rare and graceful voice of Sumanji, second
to none when compared with Lata, etc. of her time.
Ajay Arora on June 20, 2013
I have always believed that Lata has done great injustice to Sumanji, but
everyone has a share of bad luck in his/her lifetime.
saggi192001 on June 30, 2013
I have great respect for her... I agree there is very little justice in
this world.
dilip dalal on January 12, 2014

very sad and heart touching voice which brings the nice feeling .

Good lord, you guys keep praising the song, the words, the poetry, the gazal
without even knowing who wrote these fantastic lyrics. The song was written
by the great Majroohand not Sahir ! Just goes to show how little attention
is paid to even the greatest of songwiters.

Beautiful song by the lovely singer Suman Kalyanpur. I think she is every
bit as good as Lata-ji, but did not receive the same level of recognition.
I think we are beginning to recognize this neglect. This song is an
excellent example of her oeuvre. Thanks Khurram Sahab. Dr Sudevan Wisconsin
