thankyou a lot for uploading this rare gem; could you please try for its video as well?
The slower version of the same tune was adopted later on by OP Nayer in film Phagun;which made a famous duet "Tum Rooth ke mat jana , mujh se kiya shikwa deewana he deewana".

Thanks for uploading this priceless gem. It was enormously popular in the fifties, and although I hadn't heard if for years, I still remembered, verbatim, three of the four verses in the lyric. This tune/style of singing is popular in Pujabi "boliyan".

Heard these folk ''tappas'' first time in Lata Ji & Mukesh voices. The flute sounds so wondrous. Always a fan of Anil Biswas music, since I heard his songs of film 'Tarana'.
Thanks!

An old Punjabi folk tune recycled creatively at a higher tempo by Anil Biswas and sung so,so sweetly by Mukesh and Lataji. Thank you.

This song takes me back to mid 60s when N.C.C.training was made compulsory for college students in India and at least one 10 days N.C.C. camp was required to be attended compulsorily. In one such camp on the camp fire night a military officer(retd.) sang this song beautifully and we students enjoyed and responded to the wordings of the song.
Thanks for sharing.

So exquisite duet. Wonderful composition. Thanks.

Legendary MD Anil Biswas added one more feather to his cap by composing this beautiful song based on popular Punjabi folk music. OP Nayyar too used the same Punjabi folk in creating one song in film PHAGUN... "Tum rooth ke mat jaana..." in the voice of Rafi and Asha.
Dee Thakore on February 17, 2012
OPN did the slower version of this tune in phagun.
Also OPN copied from "Chalo chalo Chalen Hum"-Alibaba & 40 Thieves (1954) SNTripathi...(Rafi/Shamshad) to make "ek pardeshi"...in phagun.

A mellifluous duet envisaging romantic expression about the beauty of a
sweet-heart by one who loves her in spite of waning of her beauty. The music
composition is commensurate with the poetic composition.Hindi/Urdu language
used by the poet is quite simple, easily understood by speakers of many
other languages. Thanks for sharing such a gem of a duet.
