I am no expert into the film industry so my answer to your query may sound simplistic so here goes - in my opinion three factors are to blame. 1. It's now too commercialised so it's all about making money. 2. All new faces are somehow related to existing actors and actresses or directors etc ie insiders only so no new talent is comming in and 3. too much emphasis on artificiality including beauty and story lines. Even remakes of old succesful classics have been screwed up.

i think after coming of TVs and MTVs etc...the whole things changed gradually...westenized and remix things.sad sad sad.!! Thanks YOUTUBE and frends who share valuable clipps .!! i was cultured to hindi songs and bollywood 4m Binaca geet mala..Amin sayani ji weekly programe..untill 1990 and i stop watching

Hello Transhimalaya: Very nice for you to talk about Binaca Geetmala. I listened and made weekly listings from 1966 till july 1971. It was THE BEST programme I have ever listened to. I have even emailed SIR/SHREE AMEEN SAYANI JI complementing him. He is also a very lovely person. Those were the GOLDEN DAYS but alas sad to write, no more. Todays bollywood is just bankrupt.
