It's always a refreshingly experience to listen to Lataji in a slower-tempo
geet or ghazal accompanied by a subdued set of instruments as in this song.
The sweetness of her murkiyan is always undiminished, but her ability then
sounds more approachable rather than up in the cosmic realm. Delightful

God should have stopped creating any singers after Lata and composers after
Anil Biswas. And Lata should have stopped singing after 1960 at the latest.
She spoiled our ears so much so that after 1960 it was torture hearing her
songs even in her own voice. God bless her.

Thanks thatteji and i believe that she has sung some of her beat songs
composed by Anilda,but it will be too harsh to say what you have said for
other composers like Sajjad, Gulam Haider,Ghulam Mohammd and likes.Though i

Actually I worship Lata. She has given us so much pleasure.She made our
life rich. Unfortunately her taste of music directors does not match mine.

She sang Sajan se pehli baar for K Datta, Mausam hai Ashiqana fir Ghulam
Mohd , Jate ho to jao and dil main sama gaye sajan for Sajjad,Bandhi dor
for Sudhir Phadke, Lare Lappa for Vinod and never ever mentios them. This
is very unfortunate. Yet God bless her.

A sublime song composed by Anil Biswas. Here in Warsaw my friend Riki
Rana(son-in-law of Talat Mahmoud ) hums this song almost daily. Anilda was
a spontaneous composer and he used to compose a song sometime within

"Kyaa kyaa fareb khaaye hain, kyaa kyaa sitam uthaaye hain.." and "dekhi
thee humne bhi bahaar, hum bhi hanse thhey ek baar. kat tee hai ab to
zindagi marne ke intezaar mein" -- such a deep pathos-filled song, and what
an emotional rendition by Lataji. This is one of the most sublime
compositions of Anil Biswas, something unique about it, indescribable.

ster yearAnil Biswas was a stalwart in the domain of music composers of
yesteryear.He was excellent in composing music in depth and utilised Lata's
ability to sing beautifully specially sorrowful and and melancholy songs.He
was one of the pioneers in introducing saxophone's tremolo effect in the
background which added the depth of charm and emotion in the song.He was
great.

Incidentally Shikha Biswas Vohra is Anilda's daughter. Recently she
organised a programe in Mumbai where Talat Mahmoud's Sabina was the chief
guest.

I was introduced to lata ji when my father used to frequently hear and sing
