I am glad to know that I have not lost my sanity to think that this song has a magical, haunting, spellbinding quality and it is okay to listen to it over and over again!

@rohitlele456 I agree. No one can sing this song like Lataji. There are certain songs in the rich legacy of hindi film industry that have her name on them.

I'm sure some singers could reach her in their singing prowess. Until some new singer can fill a song with this kind of haunting and mesmerising soul and yet render the complicated melody peerlessly, Lataji remains the undisputed queen.

Whenever I listen to old Hindi songs, it flashbacks to special places that I have listened those old songs that I really enjoyed then and now as well. Moreover, it retrieves my sweet childhood memories and it refreshes my mind about those past moments of golden-era of 50s, 60s and 70s. Believe me, while listening to these old songs I get spiritual solace and peace of mind!

It seems that in this song Lata,s voice is playing with the orchestra of
violinists. And how well Madan ji handled both of them. And the cherry on
the cake is the melody of the song. Only S.D. And Roshan could match Madan
ji on the melody front. Such great songs should be poured in the ears of
those whose tear glands failed to work.

This kind of combination can only produce a rare gem.
What we know of today's Lata was almost made by Madan Mohan...though very
