Remixed Borgeet... what a joke... This is a masterpiece by Srimanta
Sankardev and well sung by Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. What Zubeen has done is
totally ridiculous. Zubeen is a very good singer, composer but anything by
him cannot be accepted. He has made a mockery of Borgeet.

I am not an assamese but must say I have become more interested in Assamese
folk music after listening to this. I think that this the purpose of
remakes, to introduce new audience to the music. Once they like it, they
will dig deeper to find folk in their truest form

And those who are criticizing Mr Zubeen Garg should understand that though
borgeet and lokageet in their original form are true masterpieces, noone
was able to take them to a global audience until zubeen took a courageous
step. All who are blaming him for losing originality should know that
zubeen has far more knowledge about our folk culture than any of you folks
commenting here.

Keeping the originality is one thing, and taking the folk tunes to a larger
audience is another, which without such modernization is not possible. So
please keep your mouths shut and appreciate. Cuz the thousands of viewers
who viewed this, lot of them were previously alien to our music.
