Wow! Wow! Wow! This is one of my favourite Salilda compositions! And it's
not a copy of Dean Martin's 'A Little Ol' Wine Drinker Me'. The tunes are
entirely different! Salilda still has a huge fan following as he had
composed some really fantastic songs in Malayalam movies. His
'Kadalinakkare ponnore...' from 'Chemmeen' and sung so wonderfully by
Yesudas is still a very popular song, even after nearly five decades! Did
you know that the story of 'Do Bigha Zameen' was written by Salilda?!

Excellent comments with important information as always; I was lucky to
have heard "Chemmeen" song may be in 1968, in the voice of a person from
Kerala serving as Lecturer at my native place; it was something like
this..."Maanasa maine varu..". I also heard 'Kadalinakkare ponnore...' now
on the YouTube; it is nice with pleasing view of the sea. "Do Bigha Zameen"
had great story. Thank you.

Salilda's music in 'Chemmeen' is immortal! By the way, 'chemmeen' means
'prawns'. The song that you mentioned, "Maanase myney varoo..." is a
fantastic song sung by Manna Dey! Hid diction in Malayalam was flawless.

Beautiful song! Rafi sounds so great on Dev Anand as if Dev himself is
singing. This song takes me down the road of nostalgia of my school days
when the movie was released in Roopam talkies in Hubli, it was such a big
hype, all over! I used to be great Dev fan!!!

great person can upload such great melodious and soft song. "Sanam" to hein
