Thanks to Radio Ceylon (SLBC) for keeping the best songs of yester years
alive. I only heard it on Radio Ceylon on July 31, 2009 during morning
transmission. Searched my database. And posted it to complete the work of
Radio Ceylon.

Believe Suraiya told SD Burman that she cannot carry through this song as

Suraiya was a fine singer-actree. She immortalised some of Ghalib's great
Ghazals when she acted/sang in the film Mirza Ghalib directed by Sohrab
Modi. The music was by Ghulam Mohammad. Those of you who have not heard
these ghazals may look for them on YouTube. 'Rahiye ab Aisi Jagah Chal kar
jahan koi na ho', 'Dil-e-nadan thujhe hua kya hai' with Talat Mehmood are
memorable.
