Now I've seen it all :D... One legendary singer becoming the on-screen voice of another legendar singer! Both Rafi sahab & Kishoreda were great in their own ways...Both of them entertained millions of fans in their day & still continue to do so posthumously. Comparisons between the two are unfair & unnecessary!

for kishore. It is unfortunate that todays generation equate kishore,
mukesh and others with Rafi saab. In reality in those days there was no
comparision with rafi sab. Kishore may be a good entertainer but when it
comes to singing, Rafi sab is far ahead of others.

Saying Kishore Da could not sing this song is very unfair as we all know
that Kishore was a top versatile singer who could sing any type of song.
The fact is that in those days Ashok Kumar had made Kishore Kumar so busy
with acting that he had no time for singing and recording these songs.
Moreover, Ashok Kumar wanted Kishore Kumar to be an actor and not a singer.
So, naturally Rafi was the only one left to sing for Kishore who was caught
up with acting and pleasing his elder brother Ashok.

The composer is the best judge of his compositions. In this case he thought Rafi shab would do the job, so he chose him. Kishore da never grudged this. He has enacted the song very well, himself being a great singer. Yes, Rafi sahab had this ability that he could sing any type of song and did full justice to all genres. Hats off to both of them! We miss them.

simply couldn't sing at the level Rafi Saab could. That's why Lata
preferred singing with Mukesh, KK & Mahendra as she knew she was better.
That's why she made an issue about royalties - she knew Rafi Saab was
better - her big loss! Ek Rafi Saab - Ek aawaz!

This is more close to Asavri Thhat, most probably darbari or jaunpuri.
Every singer is best in his own style but Rafi was the best choice for this

great Rafi Sahab sang it. Just listen to the voice of Rafi Sahab simply
like an angel. KK's voice was not as good as Rafi Sahab's.Therefore, there
was the valid reason for the music director to choose Rafi Sahab to sing
this song.Just for a change imagine KK sing this song.. Well,it would have
sounded as ridiculous as the comments like KK was so busy in acting that he
had no enough time to sing this song.
