see i just commented on Iyer sisters having the right to have there sir
names and even flaunt it if they like to..i agree with you when you say
that there has been many wrong doings in the name of religion or caste, but
we should not generalize it target every individual with Iyer sir name...

Its not like they are using cast name..its their surname.called by your
surname is very normal in western country and since we Indians imitate
western culture, its just another example that we are following
them(westerns)still. my surname is john and people were i work never called
me by my first name..dey always called me mrs john.well they used to call
me john and i wanted to add mrs just to make others realise that im female.
when me n my hubby work in the same place, we are both called John!
