In India Indian subcontinent girls are called desi girls while europeans or other region girls are called videshi.

so dont get confused if a bangladeshi teaches u other way.

That's like saying all Indians smell, hate Americans, or stereotypes which aren't true. It's ignorance on ANYONES part to assume things of other cultures/people. Actually deshi means from the country. It should've been coined by Indian sub continent folks in US to refer themselves with one. Actually the word 'Videshi' means alien. It would've been more suitable to refer us 'Videsi' as we are aliens here :) atleast me.
