No this is not ar Rahman who is singing!! This is udit narayanan!! AR rahman's voice is special and he has sung another song from this movie the song called dil se re!! Anyway great songs great movie by mani ratnam! If god asked me what i want i would say that i want to stop all wars in this world and then i would ask to meet arr one day!

Pakhi means a bird. Pardesi literally means 'foreigner'. According to my limited Hindi, i think it means a 'wanderer' here.

I think Pakhi means pure. And Panchi or some other word that starts with a P (my spelling is probably all wrong.) means bird.

pakhi means 'bird', pardesi is wanderer/foreigner, in this context they mean someone who is a wanderer (like migrating birds)
