One of the finest composition by Pankaj Mallick and beautifully sung by Biren Bal. Simply superb. Thanks for sharing with us.

The singer is Biren Bal. This song was used in both the Bengali version
"Mahaprasthaner Pathe" and the Hindi version"Yatrik" of the movie. The
music director was Pankaj Mullick

Powerful. I had never heard of Biren Lal. Wonderful voice. I would have confused it with Pankaj Mullick's, whose voice and musical genius was of course out superlative. I cannot make a emotive connection with the 40's singers like K L Saigal, but definitely with Pankaj Mullick's. Heartfelt apologies to Saigal fans - no wonder he was a pioneer in Hindi music. Thanks to Shekhar Gupta for forwarding this link. Many thanks to Guha ji for this classic.

Biren Bal & Dhananjay Bhattacharya sang some of the songs whcih are so enchanting that
one cannot differntiate them from the voice of the great master Pankaj Mullick.
