@samarkahn My dear friend, Jagjit Singh has composed and sung this poetry
as per the demands of the circumstances shown in the Series depicting the
life of Hasrat Mohani.Apart from it Abida Parveen is 'Abida Parveen' and
Jagjit Singh is 'Jagjit Singh'. Each of them are genius in their own sphere
!

Allah to say this is sung better or composed by abida perveen
really if anyone should compare it should with real singers and legand like Mehdi Hassan but with that donkey voiced abida is too much
we have heard beggars in mumbai do better.

@miannkhaliq Certainly Abidaji is a legendary singer in her own right.
Jagjit Singh has rendered the number within the scope of the TV Serial
'Kahkashan'. There is little doubt that Jagjit Singh is also a proficient
singer in his own right.

i never said that jagjit is not a good singer. what i wanted to say is that .. abida sung this song much better than jagit.. jagit sung so many good gazals which no other one could sing . both are good their own right.

it is understandable one gets impressed by compositions full of intricacies
and improvisation, that's why this rendition seems too simple(and thus
inferior !!!!!!!) to that of Mehdisaab or Abida Parveen, but keep your
knowledge of classical music aside and think how those renditions would fit
in the background of a shayars thoughts in the serial. Those would have
been completely out of place...

Mehdi Hassan Sang this Ghazal better than any one either Abida Perveen or

then what did u mean by "u will come to know how to sing". We don't need to
know how to sing, we just need to have the "tameez" to recognize a great
piece of music..

Abida Parveen has sung 'Roshan Jamal-e-Yaar, like no one else can sing it.
It is out of this world.

Mehdi Hassan sang it beautifully, but Abida ne alfaz ke moti le ke, unko
heeron mein dhaal diya. She sang this magically and Muzaffar Ali's music
has something to with that magic too.

I am not a Urdu scholar and may not know much about music. but there are
these variations of one poetry, which in itself a work of a genius &
talented poet, who has written form his personal experience and feelings,
Shayari when it is composed and performed to the audience is Gazal. The
composition has to do very much with expressing the feelings and the
atmosphere of the media through which it is published. "In mehfil there is
no one, living or dead did it better than Ustad Mehdi Hassan , when he
comes to the word "Tamaam" he troughs to you all the fragrance & colors and
the beauty that is in this Divine poetry Yes that is magic because you gasp
the soul of this poetry even not knowing much Urdu and that is called a
king performer who gives you the joy of life and you know that you have
gained much much more than you could ever pay for.
Jagjit Singh did a great job when filming the Autobiography here he
expresses the personal feelings of the poet while writing and exprencing
the moments. it has nothing to do with the mehefil and should not, then it
would have not seemed genuine considering this, he did a great job but in
this two versions I did not experience any anger, hate or bitterness, Just
love & longing
