Raj Kapoor was one of very few film makers (Bimal Roy was another) who had the guts to comment on the failings of Indian society of the time (50 s and 60 s) - through the eyes of a romantic and not a politician. Thus he presented an honest though simplistic view of the problems. Only in the 70 s were these problems treated realistically by Shyam Benegal and others.

Raj Kapoor worked in many movies. For me "Anari". was his best movie. It was the story of a sweet, simple, compassionate and honest man. I love Raj kapoor in this film.

He could be a legitimate child having lost his parents or sans sound guardian. With Brit's illegitimate child, the single mother lost leaves one emotion deprived; pretty well sounds with material conscious, where as Raj is posing with cult of innocense, the value he has more derived with Bombay rented life, having shared with the old land lady
