This gazal by Mohd. Rafi is much better than Talat's even though the other gazal became more popular. But this one is a master piece.

Just superb! Melodious, wonderful in a matchlessly romantic voice of a

This song has also been sung by Habib Wali Mohammad (it is on TouTube) who
sang it in his unique style. Apparently, Naushad decided to keep the Rafi
version. Thanks for the wonderful upload.

Rafi at his best. Soulfully. Then, the lyrics, the composition. Naushadsab,
Shakil and Rafi. Divine composition. Jitne bhi mile rang woh sab bhar diye
tujh mein haaye, Ek rang-e wafa aur hai, laoon woh kidhar se...! Iss awaaz,
mausiki, shayari kaa hai andaaz-e-baya aur. What is so special when Naushad
sang Rafi is, he won't allow Rafi to mimic the voice or style of the actor,
Remember Khilauna jaan kar ...? So, the Rafi would be his own self.
Passionate, soulful, magical!

One of 20 best sung SOLO songs of Rafi for me, among Hain kali2 ke' lab par
tere'; Aaye' bahar ban ke' lubha kar; Suur na saje' kya gaun mein; Tu Ganga
ki mauj mein; Ye' aasu mere' gham ka bayaan; Ab woh karam kare' ke' sitam
mein nashe' me' huu; Hum aur tuum aur ye' samaa; Jawani aaye' mast2 din
piye'; Yeh such hein ai jahan walo' hume' jeena; Man mora bawraa, nis din
gaaye'; Tu kahe' agar, mein jivan bhar geet. Personal, no offence meant to
any one. Hard to pack such a giant in small heart.
