Comments on song "Tere Hum O Sanam"
Vishwanathan Nagarajan on July 02, 2008 diwaaneeji, aapne kabhi 'Bole Re Papihara' sunihai... how could it have
become such a great hit. somebody entering cinema field for the first time
and first song, and it happens to be a super duper hit. But yet she doesnt
survive... !!!! its certainly not talent. its something else !!!
Vishwanathan Nagarajan on July 03, 2008 Vani is also a Living Legend, you would know if you have closely looked
into her life, in detail... I strongly agree that Lataji is extremely
talented. no doubt about it. but there are others who are equally good, but
were never given a chance to show it to the world .. that is my contention.
but anyways, the topic is closed, just as you wished. :)
anil223344 on July 18, 2008 i disagree with some of the viewers comment. yes there is competition in
india. but all the female singers even the ones mention above were very
good, but lata is no doubt is the best female singer, dont forget suman
kalyanpur she sounds also like lata. the only singer that is closest to
lata appeared with mohammed rafi in his world tour. she sung one song and
you couldnt tell the diferrence, her name is christian mukeerge.
anil/bhagat/indian/american/actor. i have the album.
sunmun21 on August 10, 2008 WOW!she had very very sweet voice.
Ravi Gokhale on September 02, 2008 Lets not get into conspiracies and politics. Suman was a great singer
unfort could not succeed because she sounded Lataesque, had nothing
different to offer like for instance Asha. The fact remains, she sang many
memorable songs and deserved more. There was a decade when Rafi and Lata
were not singing together due to the copyright contoversy.MDs could have
used her more with Rafi but it didnt happen. This is my naive observation
as I am not an expert and bollywood buff.
Abieha Khawaja on October 12, 2008 yes i totally agree with you. its a nice song but not comparable with the
best of lata's songs; for even though summan's voice reminds you of Lata
but it lacks the srength and training of lata's voice.
htgajjar on November 23, 2008 Yes it is true Lata was jealous NOT giving other great singers like Suman
Kalyanpur, Hemlata, and others a chance to sing. She wanted a monopoly as
female singer. Music director OP Nayyar never like her because of her
conditions but prefered her sister Asha singing for him.
akarshik on November 29, 2008 fabulous singing by late mohammed raffi and suman kalyanpur. here she
sounds like lata jee.thanks for great upload.
suriblingblinga on March 01, 2009 that is not true what you are saiying Asha and Lata had their own style of singing while suman kalyanpur and other fe male singers started to copy them and be honest if you are a music director would you prefer a copy or the real one...
same story with Mukesh in the beginning he copied KL saigal naushad helped him to create his own style of singing and look at mukesh now. Btw nice song
keep up the good work. for those who dont beleive me ask your elders they will tell te same story..Wah Rafi
tolykozin on April 19, 2009 Much as i like Suman, I think Lata is in a league of her own. Nobody can
sing like her. SHe was something else, so effortless her pitch and her
nuances were so clear..
ytub7 on April 20, 2009 I love Suman Kalyanpur and would say that she comes closest to Lata. However, when I listened to many different types of songs sung by Suman and Lata, both in Marathi and Hindi, I discovered, that Lata is superior in her notes and clarity of pronunciations than Suman when the song goes in lower notes. We have a habit of comparing only their high notes, and there they do sound very similar off and on. Further, like the Jweller knows the worth of a real diamond and each MD chose whatever was best.

raqib56 on April 22, 2009 suman's voice seems more finer,
her pancham is well maintained. !
raqib56 on April 22, 2009 its useless to comparing suman's voice
with anyone, suman's voice is clear,
very fine and young, goes to pancham and meaintains it good, she has good
akars of her voice.
she has her own charm, no doubt !!
avinash119 on April 26, 2009 most beautiful song..suman has sung marvellously..unfortunate, she never
attained the heights of Lata and Asha. What a song!!! Thanks for posting..
fantastic014 on April 29, 2009 well sung nice tune thanks for loading .
Srinivasan Channiga on May 09, 2009 Music is by Hansraj Behl I think.
Srinivasan Channiga on May 09, 2009 Right- music by Sardar Malik and lyrics by Hazrat Jaipuri.
kingofgoodtimes014 on May 17, 2009 marvelous superb soothing thanks .
Nisha Sachdeva on May 28, 2009 We should not keep comparing Lata and Suman. Suman had her own class and
individuality-a sweet voice, clear diction and a unique freshness. Her
tuning with Rafi was excellent. Their duets are very charming and romantic.
Sumanji, like all the other great singers of your era, you will be
remembered by music lovers forever.
MJN on June 04, 2009 it is very true that Lata ji was some kind a rude or self proudy, she got
all reason in the world to be like that but she blocked so many good female
singers i-e suman kalyan pur, sudha malhotra, mubarak begum and few others,
but that is the dark side of the commercial ism and corporate culture to be
blamed.Even her own sister aasha ji was also compared and igonored for
years untill O.P Nayar ji decided not to go for lata ji's voice for
playback singing...all that is history now.
MJN on June 04, 2009 the ever best song of suman ji is Bihnaa ne bhaaee kee kalaee se piyar
bandha hay...no one can sings like that check it out.
nutan mishra on June 07, 2009 three things about suman kalyanpur 1. I like her songs and her singing. 2.
I am listening to her since my childhood and never mistaken her for lata.
3. she is beautiful. every song is a singer's own creation, please do nto
compare.
S Qasim Hasan Zaidi on June 10, 2009 Great upload, including useful pieces of information based on some facts
and some speculations plus a list of 12 prominent duets of Suman with Rafi.
Nice work.
thecrucifer on June 25, 2009 Great song. Wonderful change from Lata and Asha. Rafi is always incomparable.
anupamadixit72 on July 23, 2009 very nice song . all 12 songs of list are great but i like most a other
song, which is; 'JAB SE HUM TUM BAHARON MEIN ' .
Parag Sankla on August 20, 2009 Asmalata Either you are ignorant about how many "arm twisting" techniques
Lata ji employed against other female singers of her times or you are being
too naive. She destroyed careers of more than 25 prominent singers (many
senior to her, some contemparories and some upcoming ones).
lovehumanity on September 05, 2009 thanx for being here..yes u may be right but then thats why i've opened
this discussion for logical debate here and anyone can give opinion in
decent words..also i believe that there can never be any comparisons as
everybody is unique in one way or another.
Ashar Hafeez on September 15, 2009 Lata not only ended carears of many female singers but both these sisters
were behind ending Rafi Sahibs carear as they refused to sing with Him and
Asha ji's husband was a composer and had influence on others awell
Joe Dow on October 15, 2009 No doubt Lata was a great singer, but her selfish and self centered ego
destroyed career of many female singers. Let me name few of them: Sudha
Malhotra. Sharda sang in "Suraj" Vani Jayram sang in "Guddi". Anuradha
Paudwal. She even for some time did not get along with Rafi. It was her own
way to control male singers and blocked female singers to shine.
sakibali786 on October 21, 2009 i have read & try to understand almost all comments posted here, some
comments r against lataji while some r not,let us all assume that may be
she ruined career of so many female singers at that time, but nobody can
deny d fact that she is d best female playback singer india has ever
produce, now lataji almost stop her singing,we all know so many female
singers today in bollywood r good for nothing,& we will never ever see
another lata mangeshkar in this world again.
MAHBOOBAH on October 25, 2009 To
Sakibali
I read your comment. I am glad that you agree Lata ruined some female singers career including Suman Kalyanpur. Suman Kalyanpur did not get a chance to prove that she could have been the best because of Lata in other sense Lata was always afraid of competition and jealous. At the end I must agre that Lata is a good singer but she should have gone through competition to prove herself.
MAHBOOBAH on October 25, 2009 I read the comment of Sakib Ali. Thanks for admitting that Lata ruined carrers of so many female singers including Suman Kalyanpur. Funny thing is Suman Kalyanpur did not get a chance to prove herself because of Lata's unprofessionalism and selfishness. No doubt that Lata is a good singer but she should have proved herself through competition not via backdoor and her jealousy. I hope you agree with all of us.
durlabh kolhe on October 29, 2009 it is well known fact that lata destroyeed carriers of many singer due to
her selfishness. however we are having some good songs of other singers let
enjoy it.
Indar Maharaj on November 12, 2009 Lata and her sisters also destroyed the career of Mubharak Begum.
anantsandhya on November 16, 2009 Did it ever occured to you guys that others could not compete with Lataji? She is far superior than others, so don't blame her for being selfish.
nyartmaker on November 19, 2009 I don't have the facts about Lataji ruining other playback singer's
careers, but, please do not compare Lataji to anyone. Her superiority can
never be matched. I mean its one thing fan commenting based on preferences
and another by esteemed knowledgeable musicians.
buttegowda on November 28, 2009 Long live Shankar Jaikishan for composing this beauty ... hidden gem .
Thanks for posting this.
pakhrat1 on December 10, 2009 thanks for the moldiest songs , this was first time I heard this song .
Milahi1935 on April 27, 2011 Suman has sung a great song with Rafi. She is every bit as good as Lata and
has a higher range. One should be biased in favor of Lata. Make them both
sing the same song and then you can judge better. Her voice is very similar
to Lata, so one cannot say that Lata had a unique voice. I don't believe
that Lata was unfair to any body. It is the fault of the incompetent and
tone deaf music composers who could not judge Suman independently and had
to follow the crowd, which is hardly ever a proper ju
Milahi1935 on April 27, 2011 I meant that " one should NOT be biased in favor of Lata".
rumandcc on October 06, 2011 Playback singing is not merely a question of voice but also of suitable
expression concerning situation AND role - in which Lata is only equalled,
if not surpassed by, Mohd Rafi.. Concerning Lata's behaviour,NO SMOKE
WITHOUT FIRE! (no such complaints about Rafi, Saigal, Kishore who enjoyed
similar status as Lata) Lata was neither producer/music director/financier
- so why couldn't the film industry have followed OP Nayyar's lead? WHY DID
THEY HAVE TO LICK HER BOOTS??
MyKaempfer on January 04, 2012 The fact is that Lata and Rafi stopped singing with each other from 1963 to
1967. They had a clash regarding the copyright of the songs. So the music
directors had to use either Suman/ Asha/ Sharda for female voice or
Kishore/ Talat/ Manna Dey/ Mahendra Kapoor for male voice. Otherwise there
was no chance of Sardar Malik using Suman in his song.
Sandeep Sharma on February 06, 2012 Lata has sung some great songs (including duets)...but here...Suman
rules... My favorite Rafi... duet. Enough said.
orawal on March 25, 2012 What a beautiful composition!!
Girish Dave on October 06, 2012 outstanding...performance by allconnected to this sweet song..
Vijay Soni on November 05, 2012 Dr.Bukhari saab, Thanks a ton for this fantastic duet. I do agree with you
about Suman Kalyanpur. BYW. again thanks a lot for the best audio quality
of this rare and hard to find song. who is the Music director? Ravi?
Vijay Soni on November 05, 2012 Dr.Bukhari saab, Thanks a ton for this fantastic duet. I do agree with you
about Suman Kalyanpur. BTW. again thanks a lot for the best audio quality
of this rare and hard to find song. who is the Music director? Ravi?
ANU VIKSHAT on November 19, 2012 A lovely song penned down by Hasrat Jaipuri sahab in film bachpan (1963).
Jagjit Singh Ishar on January 09, 2013 Hats off to Sardar Malik, Rafi sahib & Suman Kalyanpur for creation of such
wonderful gem evergreen & for centuries to come. Sardar malik has to his
credit very few movies but all were the milestone & very melodious
compositions. I dont know why such great creative persons were ignored &
the producers directors did not pay heed to his talents & we the music
lovers remained devoid of more melodious gems. Wonderful upload on your
channel.
