Sorry it is not Mehdi Hasan but a less known singer who sang this first and last song. I do not know his name but I learned this from some one who has related with music industry in Karachi. His name is Mueen Jamal.

doesn't this song have the same tune as "mohabbat ki jooti." and even some of the lyrics are swiped from the this old song from mughal-e-azam.

hassanfarooqi, let me correct your info a little. Benjamin (Victor Benjamin) was not a singer (although he could sing), he was a music director & a xylaphone player. He was my uncle (God rest his soul).

Thanks for the clarification and sorry for your loss. I never knew Victor Benjamin. However S.B. John used to work with my brother and he once made a passing remark to my brother as a "church fellow". I wrongly assumed he sang with him in the same church. Probably he just meant a "fellow Christian". Hassan
