There is an aura about meena kumari --that makes you wonder about her---unlike the stars of today who we dismiss without much thought. Rafi sounds very different in this song

there is absolutely NOBODY like her in the Hindi film industry, Her appeal was so great and enveloping that movie audiences at that time and even to this day, say she is in a league of her own, when she cried the audience cried, Today when the actresses cry, it makes you chuckle

on the radio since childhood growing up in Trinidad ,As i have grown up and
when i listen to these songs it takes me back to different periods ,and i
have some vivid memories of childhood,just simple and pure an era of

My all time favorite.Jugalbandi of Great RD and Great Rafi Saab.

lot of shades of khamaj and kalavati... soft and mellifluous rendition with
such a soulful voice.Now-a-days as I listen more Pancham songs , the
more I reveal him...Perhaps He had even surpassed his father SD..if I am
not wrong...A person who dedicated his whole life to music music and
music..kept on experimenting new trend of all sorts of music on the base of
Indian Classical music and melody. He left us at very early age (54 yrs).
But I must say after 1985-86 he could not able to score music like
seventies (Amar Prem, Kinara, Khusboo, Parichay etc.). But few exceptions
were still there like Izazat, Parinda and a song in Jeeva (Roz Roz ankho
Tale)in the late 80s. But RD is RD. He is my childhood tune.
