Comments on song "Yaad Aa Raha Hai Tera Pyar, Kahan Hum Kahan Tum"
Razor Edge on January 23, 2012 With so much discussion about the electric guitar, the answer should be
obvious: He's using a wi-fi electric guitar from the future, transported
back in time to the year 1982...

REVOLUTION BACK THEN !

boiragirules on May 16, 2012 honestly...yes! But ..Nazia Hussain made sensation already. I remember this
song used to be played in all possible pooja pandles (I am from bengal) in
every 10 minutes interval, it used to make my very traditional mother
furious...I was not allowed to sing this song at home...!!!!!! hahahaha
childhood..sweet childhood.
boiragirules on May 16, 2012 I am sure Bappi stole it from somewhere..do not believe he had the capacity
to invent something of this calibre.

mamabari07 on June 15, 2012 Joy Bangali.. :)
Razor Edge on June 17, 2012 The character's name is Jimmy. I think the name was supposed to be a homage
to Jimi Hendrix.
Razor Edge on July 06, 2012 Bappi has done his fair share of plagiarizing, but that doesn't mean
everything he does is plagiarized. In fact, some of his original tracks are
today often sampled by hip-hop artists around the world (for example, "Come
Closer"). However, "Yaad Aa Raha Hai" is easily one of the best tracks
Bappi has ever produced. I've listened to countless disco tracks, and
nothing else comes close, besides maybe the 1982 proto-acid house album
"Ten Ragas to a Disco Beat", partly influenced by this song.
Razor Edge on July 06, 2012 This kind of sounds like house music, now that I think of it.
boiragirules on July 14, 2012 not sure Indians got the concept or the understandin of Jimmy Hendrix back
in 1984, Anything US was seen with utter contempt back them. I am not sure
how much of the pop listening public know about Jimmi..they prefer the
sweet hotchpotch of bollywood music unless Amitabh Bacchan endores it.
boiragirules on July 14, 2012 or may get some sense of humour. :)
girishtim on July 15, 2012 amazing song... most of the music during disco peroid was from boney m group... search boney m
Razor Edge on July 17, 2012 Indians knew about Jimi Hendrix since the late 60s. In fact, it was Jimi
Hendrix who inspired a certain Indian boy to become one of the biggest rock
stars of all time... of course I'm referring to none other than Queen's
Freddie Mercury. As for Disco Dancer (from 1982, not 1984), much of the
movie is a homage to American pop culture. The whole Jimmy name + electric
guitar (albeit wireless) combo is clearly a homage to Jimi Hendrix.
boiragirules on July 18, 2012 i beg to disagree a bit here. I am a die hard queen fan. I would say that
yes western pop-rock-funk.fusion was only confined among a selected few. It
was not a mass thingie. I am certain because I grew up during this time.
Yes all music directors know what is gooing on out there..and Freddie went
to a very good school in pune. And I doubt it very much of he could become,
what he had become, had he stayed in India.
Razor Edge on July 20, 2012 Well, the point is that Western rockstars like Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles
were known to a lot of middle-class Indians back then, and certainly Indian
musicians. But yes, the general public didn't really know much about
Western artists back then... and even to this day, Western records barely
sell in India.
boiragirules on July 20, 2012 i would say ..elites knew what was going out there..upper middle class. or
upper classes use to buy records of jimi..beatles, blue brothers ...etc
etc...MIthun's disco dancing was an eye opener and yet. many still do not
know who (percentage is off course a lot less than when I grew up) ABBA is
and the disco classic of dancing queen.
Razor Edge on July 25, 2012 Personally, I think it's good that India has its own home-grown music
industry. I find it quite annoying how the music charts in most countries
around the world are dominated by English-language acts (mainly American,
and to a lesser extent, British). India is one of the few countries where
its music charts are dominated by local home-grown talent rather than
foreign English-language acts. More countries need to support their own
local home-grown talent like India does.
Razor Edge on July 25, 2012 Ironically, many Indians don't know about Biddu's disco records of the 70s.
While Biddu did later become a popular Indi-pop producer in the 80s-90s,
his 70s Western disco songs like "Kung Fu Fighting" were barely known in
India. Not only did Biddu help pioneer disco in the early 70s, but he was
also responsible for introducing it to India in the late 70s... yet it's
Bappi Lahiri who often gets hailed as India's "disco king", when in reality
it's Biddu who deserves that honour.
Razor Edge on July 25, 2012 The part at 1:46 also sounds somewhat like proto-acid house. Could a Roland
TB-303 bass synthesizer have been used for that part? (Since I'm pretty
sure it doesn't sound like an electric guitar)
youtt ube on July 28, 2012 Rajesh sir, you made us cry a lot when departed in real life. you will be
missed till last breath of my own
krishnan on July 29, 2012 An excellent review over disco songs from jagged85.Actually it is Biddu who
brought disco to india. But Bappida did 100's of them at a stretch.May be
that is the reason he is being hailed as disco king of India. Most of the
disco song composed by Bappida have become run away hits. For example disco
dancer songs were popular in China,Russia,Srilanka,Turkey and many other
countries.Bappida even got an award for the same from China.

TIGERZY2K on August 09, 2012 Long live the duo of famous bong dadas in Bollywood Industry- Mithun
Chakraborty and Bapi Lahiri.
Gtbomb1 on August 11, 2012 what does the song mean
boiragirules on August 12, 2012 Biddu also produced other hits for Tina Charles, like "I Love to Love", and
various other Euro-disco artists. Biddu was pretty much the top Euro-disco
producer before Cerrone and Gorgio Moroder came along. Unfortunately, most
Indians don't know anything about his work before coming to Bollywood." And
that is my point mate all along , we Indians remained very naive untill 90s
about the western music or any other Indians contributing to the world
western music circle
DamallaX on August 23, 2012 C'mon. Indian is a model to the rest of the world. Just be yourself. I grew up with Mithun movies and Indian music in general.
