Sir of these composers while Rafi did sing good songs for Anil Biswas,
C.Ramchandra and even Salil Chowdhury, these composers tried to favour
other singers over Rafi. Well, Anil Biswas did not dislike Rafi, but found
that Rafi was just too perfect because he could sing as directed, while the
composer liked to work with singers whom he could command. So he preferred
Mukesh, then also Manna (an equally good singer as Rafi)mainly because he
was a Bengali.

Following my earlier comment, I took some time to read through the comments
and now have an idea why you wrote what you did. If this s religious
argument I refuse to get into it. People who do so are very short minded.
They have locked themselves into a box and refuse to see the bigger
picture. Rafi the singer had no religion. If anything he belongs to the
religion of music which we all follow. No one body owns him. He is an
international icon loved by people from every corner of the globe.

What about Naushad, Sajjad, Gulam Mohammad, Iqbal Qureshi, S. Mohinder and
several others? Why did you exclude them? In fact high quality music was
delivered by Naushad, Sajjad and Gulam Mohammad along with SD Burman, Madan
Mohan & Roshan and each one preferred Rafi over others simply because of
the fact that Rafi offered a unique combination of High Voice Quality,
Enormous Voice Range & Supreme Talent. Rafi had already demonstrated his
talent in 1952 with Baiju Bawra.
