@ diva76ish... good point but what's wrong with showing the life of Indians
that live abroad . These days movies about indians living abroad and second
generation Indians is a refreshing change . Before this time movies were
not made about the hyphenated Indian identiy ( as in Namesake ) , or about
the terrorist issue ( as in MName is Khan ) . All these years we had movies
based on tagore or premchand or mahasweta devi and while I LOOVe watching
these to get a feel of common mans life ...

@diva while movies like bengals hari bhari , ghosh's chokher bali ray's
pather pachali are eternal favorites for indian cinegoers , to see the life
of Indians abroad and second generation Indians is also equally pertinent
.A lotof these are about common man in the US ( my name is khan , kal ho na
ho , namesake ). As a transplanted Indian living in the US i love watching
both depictions of life . We can and should never forget our roots our rich
culture and its depction on the silver screen

@Diva76ish I honestly feel that most of us Indians go to the movies to lose
ourselves in the glitz and glamor. The average Indian story would be far
less appealing and hence wouldn't run for as long in the theaters.
