Hasrat Jaipuri (Iqbal Hussain), the lyric of this famous song, was a bus
conductor in Bombay @ Rs.11.00 p.m. He fell in love with a regular
passenger 'Sita' and wrote this song for her. He sold this song to Raj
Kapoor to help his friend's(Shailendra's) ailing wife. He also wrote 'jiya
beqarar hai, chhai bahar hai', 'teri pyari-pyari surat ko kisi ki nazar na
lage', 'ehsan tera hoga mujh per', 'pankh hote to ud jaati re' etc.
Qabiliyat kisi ohade ki mohtaz nahin hoti.
