aapne apna banaya meharbani aapki
meharbani aapki hum to is kabil na the
hum to is kabil na the hum to is kabil na the
hai kadar jani aap ki meharbani aapki
aapne apna banaya
aaj humne dil ke badale aap ko dil de diya
aaj humne dil ke badale aap ko dil de diya
aaj humne dil ke badale aap ko dil de diya
isi inayet is navaris is karam ka shukariya
humne bhi dil me rakhi ye nishani aap ki
meharbani aapki aapne apna banaya
kya pata bin aap ke kuch bhata nahi
arey aapke bin or kuch bhata nahi
humko apni khush nasibi pe yaki aata nahi
ek to paigame ulfat fir jubani aapki
meharbani aapki hum to is kabil na the
hum to is kabil na the hai kadar jani aap ki
meharbani aapki aapne apna banaya
Gratitude for receiving love is wonderful if it's a mutual surrender of
hearts, as in this song. When I find it one-sided-- often just from woman
to man-- in our old films, I wince. Love should not be a favor that one
side confers on the other. Heard this honeyed piece of poetry after ages
today. And as always, Lataji is meticulous in her grasp of Urdu: She
pronounces yaqeen correctly, not as yakeen. Thanks, Suhanee
