Lyrics of Babuji Dhire Chalna, Pyaar Me Zara Sambhlna - बाबूजी धीरे चलना, प्यार में जरा संभलमा
baabuji dhire chalanaa
pyaar me zaraa sambhalanaa
haan bade dhokhe hai
bade dhokhe hai is raah me, baabuji

kyun ho khoye huye sar jhukaaye
jaise jaate ho sab kuchh lutaaye
ye to baabuji pahalaa kadam hai
nazar aate hai apane paraaye
haan bade dhokhe hai

ye muhabbat hai o bholebhaale
kar na dil ko gamo ke havaale
kaam ulafat kaa naazuk bahut hai
aake hotho pe tutege pyaale
haan bade dhokhe hai

ho gayi hai kisi se jo anaban
thaam le dusaraa koi daaman
zidagaani ki raahe ajab hai
ho akelaa hai to laakho hai dushman
haan bade dhokhe hai

This song is performed by Geeta Dutt and appears on the soundtrack Aar Paar
(1954).

Babuji Dheere Chalna,
Pyaar Mein Zara Sambhalna
Haan Bade Dhokhe Hain,
Bade Dhokhe Hain Iss Raah Mein
Babuji Dheere Chalna, Pyaar Mein Zara Sambhalna
Haan Bade Dhokhe Hain, Bade Dhokhe Hain Iss Raah Mein
Babuji Dheere Chalna.

Kyon Ho Khoye Hue, Sar Jhukaaye, Jaise Jaate Ho Sab Kuchh Lutaaye
Yeh Toh Babuji Pehla Qadam Hai, Nazar Aate Hain Apne Paraaye
Haan Bade Dhokhe Hain, Bade Dhokhe Hain Iss Raah Mein
Babuji Dheere Chalna, Pyaar Mein Zara Sambhalna
Haan Bade Dhokhe Hain, Bade Dhokhe Hain Iss Raah Mein
Babuji Dheere Chalna.

Yeh Mohabbat Hai O Bhole Bhale, Kar Na Dil Ko Ghamon Ke Hawaale
Kaam Ulfat Ka Naazuk Bahut Hai, Aake Hothon Pe Tootenge Pyaale
Haan Bade Dhokhe Hain, Bade Dhokhe Hain Iss Raah Mein
Babuji Dheere Chalna, Pyaar Mein Zara Sambhalna
Haan Bade Dhokhe Hain, Bade Dhokhe Hain Iss Raah Mein
Babuji Dheere Chalna.

Ho Gayi Hai Kisi Se Jo An-Ban, Thaam Le Doosra Koi Daaman
Zindgaani Ki Raahein Ajab Hain, Ho Akela Toh Laakhon Hain Dushman
Haan Bade Dhokhe Hain, Bade Dhokhe Hain Iss Raah Mein
Babuji Dheere Chalna, Pyaar Mein Zara Sambhalna
Haan Bade Dhokhe Hain, Bade Dhokhe Hain Iss Raah Mein
Babuji Dheere Chalna!

1. "Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps" is the English version - from the beginning
to the end - of Cuban songwriter Osvaldo Farres's very popular Spanish song
"Quizas, quizas, quizas" composed in 1947 (and sung in Spanish in 1958 by
Nat King Cole)..

2. OPNayyar has merely taken the opening line ' Siempre que te pregunto,
que cuando, como y donde" (= Babuji dheere chalna, pyar men zara sambhalna)
from the original. The rest is all OPNayyar.

3. Taking "inspiration" from other tunes is common practice in popular
music - not just in India but all over the world...!

This is one of many IMMORTAL GEETA DUTT songs. It may have some inspiration
from some other song. MDs of 50s and 60s gave us thousands of IMMORTAL
songs and few were inspired from outside. Filthy lingo with dirty mind has
no legs to stand on in any debate. INDIA absorbs ALL good things. Only
problem with O P Nayyar was that he refused to make any tunes for LATAJI
and was TOO LATE for Mukeshji's Chal akela. His music could have a better
history if LATA and MUKESH had sung few more songs by him.

I listened to the supposed original (Doris Day) and but for two starting
notes, there was no correlation to the rest of the song. While this song is
uplifting and pacy, the other song fell dead after those first 2 notes.
Please understand music before you talk about great Indian composers and
realize that all art is a progression, one piece inspiring the next and so
on.

OP Nayyar was a "Japanese" kind of music director in those days in that He
was just a copycat copying or stealing wonderfully most of his music from
the western world. And the Madras music directors in turn copied Nayyar.
Thankk God, we now have originals like AR RAHMAN, who can not only compose
ANY KIND OF MUSIC, but singing them inimitably as in Jhodha Akbar
