I am a Buddhist from Sri Lanka (no religion or Country factor) and I
prefer Rafi's version. its full of emotion, voice quality and flawless.
Lata's version could be made better if she had sung at lower scale. I
presume, songs of those days were made to suit Rafi's range and having Rafi
in mind. Even Duets were made like that.Take the title song of Dil Tera
Deewana. I dont say Lata was a lesser singer. In my opinion Rafi had
something unique, an edge over other singers.
