And, something about the lyrics. I read somewhere that composer Ravi
was caring for lyrics and composed tunes based on lyrics, as opposed to the
convention of tunes first and then fitting lyrics. Late Sahir Ludhianvi
fought for the cause of lyrics but was disappointed of the convention. It
is interesting to see that Ravi and Sahir had good association. Where all
these lyrics have gone nowadays? Regards.

ab koi shak nahi,yakinan Rafi sahab ne na jane kitne hazaron geet ga
diye,har pal pal dundne par ek naya hi anmol nagma nikal hi aata he,aur
upar se bemisal,ek se bad ke ek.wah RAFI sahab wah!! maan gaye aap sirf
insan nahi awaz ke fariste the.aap ne jina sika diya,aap to har hal me
manata hu , ta-umar manata rahunga es zamin pe aap se badakar koi awaz na
hui aur kayamat talak bhi na ho.kyun bhala kisi ki fizul bakawas me dhyan
de,jinko parakh nahi,jo khuda ki khudai ko nahi

As a rejoinder to Rumahale ji, the quality of lyrics in today's songs has
degenerated. In fact, barring only a few, it is wrong to use the word
'quality'. Look at these lines: "Shaam ka sooraj bindiya bankar saagar main
kho jaaye, Subah savere wo hee sooraj asha lekar aaye, Nayi umangen nayi
tarangen aas kee jyot jalayre re... Tum aaj mere sang hanslo" or, "Sooni
sej god mori sooni marm na jaane koye". Songs of Pyasa, & hundreds of other
old films. Today, there are no lyrics, to say the least.

thank you , i have faint memories of this song heard rarely . ''sab kuchh
luta ke hosh mein aaye to kyaa kiyaa '' by talat was more often played on
the radio . this one by rafi is excellent too !

I did not know of this movie earlier - thanks to YouTube could know of good
songs it has. I also understand that this movie has good story and plot
with Ashok Kumar and Madhubala in the cast. This song was not heard
regularly - I was content with short clip; glad to see the extended
version. Powerful lyrics by Prem Dhawan, brilliant music score by Ravi,
heavenly voice from Rafi Sahab and superb performance by Ashok Kumar are
sufficient to make it all the great. Thanks for excellent presentation.
